There are many sources for statistics, the following list of resources are a good place to start looking:

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS): Health
Publishes the most comprehensive source of Australian statistical information. The ABS measures the health of the Australian population by measuring mortality, morbidity, lifestyle factors, disability, and the use of health services. Click on the Themes tab to see more information, eg. morbidity, disability.

Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 
The national agency for health and welfare statistics. Click on Data Online for full data sets; or Publications for published sets and summaries, all of which are available in full text online.

AIHW National Perinatal Statistics Unit Collects and publishes information and statistics in reproductive and perinatal health.

Australian Indigenous Health InfoNet
Web-based information on indigenous health compiled either from this site or from other sources, with a bibliography to help searching further. 

Australian Health Tracker

Australia's Health Tracker by Area is an interactive website that provides the most up to date Australian data on chronic diseases, conditions and their risk factors.

Department of Health - Statistics
Statistics include General Practice, Medicare, Hospital, Hospital Casemix & Private Hospital data, Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

data.gov.au

Data.gov.au is the central source of Australian open government data. Anyone can access the anonymised public data published by federal, state and local government agencies.

Health Status of Victorians
Includes information about the health and determinants of health of Victorians. 

Injury Atlas Victoria

The Injury Atlas of Victoria is developed by the Victorian Injury Surveillance Unit (VISU) , Monash University Accident Reseach Centre. The Injury Atlas presents de-identified hospital-treated unintentional injury data supplied by the Victorian Agency for Health Information (VAHI). This can be used by government departments and agencies of all levels, health and injury prevention organisations, media, business and industry, education institutions, research groups and the community.

Victorian Health Information Surveillance System
The Victorian Health Information Surveillance System displays public health indicators interactively. There are four interactive components, Victorian population health survey, Burden of disease, Avoidable mortality and Ambulatory care sensitive conditions. You can generate tables and graphs containing data for the state of Victoria, or specific areas within the state.
