CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature)

CINAHL Plus with Full Text is available as an EBSCOhost database and is actually a combination of 3 databases: CINAHL Plus with Full Text, CINAHL Select, and PreCINAH. It provides the CINAHL index to journals in the areas of nursing and allied health, but also provides the full-text of more than 560 of these journals. Other resources that are indexed include: legal cases, drug records, clinical trials, professional publications, health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, and Evidence-Based Care Sheets.

ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Collection

Provides coverage from leading health journals and essential medical journals in key medical specialties. ProQuest Health & Medical Complete provides in-depth coverage from over 1,440 publications with nearly 1,200 available in full text and of these, over 970 include MEDLINE.(Found on the Clinicians Health Channel, and via EDS)

Dementia Australia Library provides access to quality dementia related information. This information is applicable to people with dementia, their carers friends and family. This is also useful for health professionals, other service providers and members of the general public.

Occupational Therapy

OTseeker - a database that contains abstracts of systematic reviews, randomised controlled trials and other resources relevant to occupational therapy interventions. Most trials have been critically appraised for their validity and interpretability. In one database, OTseeker provides fast and easy access to information from a wide range of sources to inform occupational therapy.The trials in OTSeeker have been sourced by conducting systematic searches of the following databases: MEDLINE, CINAHL, ERIC, EMBASE Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine, AMED, PsycINFO, the Cochrane Library, CancerLit, and Ageline. Other methods of sourcing trials include auto-alert strategies in MEDLINE, CINAHL, EMBASE, AMED and PsycINFO, and hand-searching of selected journals.

PERro – Physiotherapy Evidence Database.  PEDro is a free database of over 36,000 randomised trials, systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines in physiotherapy. For each trial, review or guideline, PEDro provides the citation details, the abstract and a link to the full text, where possible. All trials on PEDro are independently assessed for quality.

Speech

SpeechBITE  - Speech Pathology Database for Best Interventions and Treatment. The advanced search feature helps structure your search. This resource gives access to citations and (sometimes) abstracts which are of interest to Speech Pathologists. Studies on this database include Systematic Reviews, Randomised Controlled Trials, Non-Randomised Controlled Trials, Case Series, and Single Case Experimental Designs. The full-text of these items is not necessarily included, though there might be links to full-text.

Surgery

RACS Library

Surgery 101 is a series of podcasts designed to help people learn about the basics of surgery. This resource is a helpful revision tool for medical students. Each episode covers a single topic in 10-15 minutes so that learners can quickly grasp the basic concepts relating to a common surgical problem. Learning objectives are provided for each episode; episodes are divided into chapters and conclude with several key points to summarize the topic.
